Welcome to the Academic Excellence Task Force Discussion Forum

Thank you for visiting the Academic Excellence task force website.  This is a place where you can pose questions or make recommendations pertaining to this strategic priority.  The task force chair, John Eshelman, and I will be regularly reviewing the discussion forum and responding to questions, and look forward to seeing your contribution to the conversation.

adding "facilities" to the list of topics

    Dear colleagues:

As Jeff Boersma mentioned in his invitation to raise issues for the Task Force on Academic Excellence, I think that issues such as academic standards, admission standards, faculty and staff resources, faculty and staff work structure, student resources, instructional technology, assessment, and core policy are all important.

I would like to add to the list the issue of facilites. I realize that the University just invested enormously in some of the facilities in the College, but
as a whole, the College  is still woefully short on classroom and research space. In addition, many departments have been split-up, hurting morale. These problems will only get worse as the University continues to grow.

    Best,
