As Matthew Martell reported in The Spectator at the beginning of the month, Seattle U's bridge-building team was off to nationals Memorial Day weekend after clinching a 2nd place victory in regional competition.
The bridge-builders are back from Florida after placing 16th overall in the national competition. Bridges were judged on stiffness, economy, efficiency, construction speed, lightness and display. Though taking a hit as one of the ugliest bridges in attendance, the team handed it to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (whose team took 21st overall.) They also scored top-ten in lightness, stiffness (an impressive 3rd), and efficiency.
