[Editor's note: This post is the third in a three part Q&A series with recently-elected ASSU officials. Today's interview, conducted by Spectator volunteer writer Ashley See, is with transfer representative Erik Norman. Erik won the position after beating out Brandon De Bruhl in a 129-109 election].
1. The Spectator: First off, where are you from?
Erik Norman: I am from "The Biggest Little City in the World", Reno, NV.
2. The Spectator: What are you hoping to accomplish this year in your position?
Erik Norman: I really would like to help students (transfer students
more specifically, of course) to feel more comfortable at Seattle U. If
this means increasing school spirit or just doing little things to make
them feel like the university really cares about them, I think that
would really help because as a transfer student I felt a little out of
place myself when I first got here.
3. The Spectator: What has been your leadership experience thus far?
Erik Norman: I did a little bit of leadership in middle school, but
then didn't do any leadership activities in high school because it was
almost as ineffectual of an organization as it was in middle school.
Talk about a popularity contest where the winners are doomed to make
posters for a year.
4. The Spectator: What is your favorite aspect of attending Seattle University?
Erik Norman: Do I really have to pick a favorite? I have to say I
love the city of Seattle, so that we're so close is just amazing. As
superficial as it may seem, location really is my favorite part of
Seattle U.
