Check out my video interview with Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul

Republican presidential candidate
Ron Paul visited Seattle University to give a speech on the Constitution last Friday. Before he spoke to a packed house in the Campion Ballroom, I sat down with Dr. Paul for a brief interview regarding his stance on stem cell research, abortion, President Bush's speech on 9/13 and more.

Check it out below, or over at The Spectator's YouTube channel:

Great interview guys!  David Postman covered Congressman Paul's SU visit in Times article:

Hope to see plenty more presidential candidates stream through Seattle, and SU in the coming year!

Patrick,

Thanks for the praise, as well as the link to Postman's article. Seems that Dr. Paul generated quite a buzz on his short-but-sweet visit to Seattle. As the year progresses, you and I should discuss the political spectrum and how we could get involved with it to build The Spectator's YouTube channel. Making this video was so easy that we could easily be cranking these out every week.

This stuff is really cool, and if you could develop youtube as another source of content, that would be really cool.  I would be interested in seeing more videos of local, state, and national newsmakers, but I would also enjoy seeing videos of SU subjects as well.  Let me hear some of Fr. Sundborg's words on a topic, or turn the old "Campus Voice" thing into a video segment instead.  I imagine those would be funny because some people would probably be hilarious on camera while some may say something really dumb that the rest of us could enjoy ;)

Do other stuff that is hot locally too--over on SLOG the big topics are transportation (viaduct, 520, street car) and bicycles.  When the city has public meetings or when there is some kind of conference that covers those subjects, put a camera on it and either broadcast the whole thing or highlights.  Then try to get people from both sides ranting on camera so we can get the flavor of the ideas and the passions, as well as the entertainment value of seeing someone totally lose their mind over a bike lane.  I'd watch that all day.

Perseus,

Glad to hear we're on the same page. As web production editor for The Spectator this year, I plan to develop all sorts of video projects, turning The Spectator's YouTube channel into an informative video resource for all-things Seattle. Feel free to e-mail me (lagattar@seattleu.edu) with any ideas you may have...the more voices we have in getting this going, the better.

That is a great idea on the Spectator's You Tube.  Keep us updated.
