Undergraduate Admissions and Travel Adventures from a Seattle University Admissions Counselor.
The Postmark deadline is February 1st for Freshmen
Just a friendly reminder that freshmen applications need to be submitted / postmarked by tomorrow.  Here's the easiest way to make sure it was sent/received:

Sent it through the Common App site?
It should have a record that you uploaded successfully (and an email, I believe).  Print that out for your records.

Sent it through the mail?
I recommend sending it by certified mail, or at least make it trackable, so you can confirm that it was delivered to us.  That thirty cents is worth every penny for peace of mind.

When Should I hear back from Seattle University?
You should receive a confirmation letter within 10-14 days.  If you don't after that, then you should contact us.

How Should I properly celebrate submitting all of my applications?
With a little dance.  I enjoy the foxtrot.  And a hearty pat on the back for getting all that paperwork in!

I'll leave you with Starbucks cup quote #63:

The Way I See It

Our lives are inspired by the dreams we have from the earliest stages of our youth.  When you combine passion and hard work, then success is always possible.  While no road is ever straight, dedication and persistence will always lead you to your dreams.

I understand that if I walk up Broadway I can find brass footprints imbedded in the sidewalk teaching me how to do the foxtrot. However, since they also have the waltz, flamingo, and tango instructions would you think it was okay for me to choose one of the other steps to celebrate completion of my applications?

I think you should celebrate by dancing all of them, if you have the chance. Followed by taking a picture next to the Jimi Hendrix statue on Capitol Hill, if you have a chance :)

A postcard advertising this blog came from the SU Admissions Office today that said . . . "Right now we are in the thick of selecting Seattle University's class of 2011." HUH? 2011 - really?? Does this mean I am a year late, or that you expect this class to take 5 years to graduate? Or that it takes 5 years to graduate at SU . . . or what?? Should I be worried?

I think we might have put the wrong date on our postcards...don't worry, we are in the midst of selecting for the class of 2010 right now.
